On the surface I appeared happy, beaming with energy, with a growing business and an idyllic family. But I desperately lacked balance. I would take work home from the office, dedicate all non-office time to helping around the house and being with the kids, then continue to work once everyone else in the house had gone to bed. I dealt with my stress through food and alcohol. I sorely missed getting exercise and play time for myself. With the demands of my business and family, regaining time just for myself seemed impossible.

I spend more quality time with my family and I take a few hours a week for myself.
I spend my “me” time in reflection and in the kind of play and exercise that rejuvenates my soul.
